Keira Knightley

Knightley, born in London within the families consisting of actor Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald at six years old, was the first actress to be employed by TV commercials as well as films. In 1999, she was Sabe as Sabe in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Her big break came when she played a tomboy football player in the sports documentary Bend It Like Beckham (2002), and was able to attain worldwide fame as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler adventure series Pirates of the Caribbean, from 2003. Knightley was described as one of the promising young stars following her being featured in Love Actually (2003). Knightley got an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). Alongside Atonement and Pride & Prejudice, she also played as Georgiana Cavendish as the tastemaker in The Duchess and Anna Karenina's main socialite. She also branched out into modern dramatics. Begin Again, (2013) played her as the role of a singer who is aspiring to be one, while Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her being a medical student. Knightley made a return to the world of historical film as Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014) and earned her a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and starred as the writer whose name is Colette (2018).
